Solvent cleaning machines/ combustible liquids
KLN manufactures various cleaning machines acc. to ATEX (ATmosphère EXplosibles) for the use of combustible liquids. The cleaning machines can be used separately or in combination with other methods.
Cleaning machines for combustible liquids with a flash point of FP>55°C
In the ordinance on industrial safety and health (BetrSichV) combustible liquids with an FP>55°C are no longer registered. The requirement to safety for handling combustible liquids, however, remains valid.
The safety data sheets inform on all data relevant for safety when handling the respective combustible liquid. In appendix II of the REACH directive (EC) No. 1907/2006 the content of the safety data sheets is determined.
The cleaning tanks must be operated at a well ventilated place. The MAK (maximum working place concentration) values must be observed.
The combustible cleaning agent can be filled in directly into the tanks. The ultrasonic generators are set up separately. A safety thermostat (setting 15°C below the flash point) controls the adherence to a max. temperature and in case of excess temperature it switches the machine off. The cover included in the delivery avoids emissions from the tank during standstills.
The machines can also be used in connection with aqueous cleaning methods.

Cleaning machines for combustible liquids with a flash point FP<55°C
These machines are suitable for solvents, marked acc. to the ordinance on industrial safety and health (BetrSichV) as to the risk stage R10 (inflammable), R11 (easily inflammable) und R12 (highly inflammable).
The machines can be installed in halls and rooms. Also they may be operated in hazardous rooms.
The explosion proofness acc. to ATEX for these machines is based on an overall concept, which meets all necessary measures for safe operation. By extraction of the contaminated air directly at the source the atmosphere of the operating area is held free of explosive air. The extraction volume is laid out such that during failure-free operation the MAK values (maximum working place concentration) can be abided.
Ventilated working place
The ventilated working place is designed for manual operation.
The basic version consists of a solvent tank and a drip collector.
The solvent tank is incorporated in a larger tank. The solvent is sonicated indirectly through the water in the larger tank. The drip collector is connected directly to the exhaust air stream.
An air stream to the backside extraction channel minimizes the spreading of the vapors in the direction of the operator.
All displays and operating elements are located in the control box.

Dipping devices for combustible liquids with a flash point FP<55°C
The machine type makes possible cleaning with several solvents. Steam drying can be integrated as well as flash-off stations.
The machines have freeboard and a recooling area in order to minimize the solvent losses.
All necessary safety devices are available to adhere to the requirements of the ATEX directive.
